Place Name

Thought to be named after the Reverend James Voller (AD1813 – AD1901), a London-born minister who became a major figure in establishing the Baptist church in Queensland, Australia. In AD1853 while sailing to Australia on The Meridian were shipwrecked after the ship broke up. All 84 passengers survived and were picked up by a passing American whaling boat.
