Place Name

David Peter Hemery (born July 18, 1944) was a track and field athlete, who won Gold in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. He later went on to win Silver and Bronze at the Munich Olympics four years later. Hemery, from Cirencester, Gloucestershire, later went onto win the first ever British Superstars competition and later became a coach. This is one of a small cluster of streets, that come off Lillian Board Way, named after famous British sports men and women. The roads are laid out over former sports grounds, which included tennis courts, a swimming pool and pavilion.
