Place Name
So named as it lies on the east bank of the nearby Pymmes Brook, a small tributary of the River Lea. It was laid out in the mid-20thCentury on land that was previously on the Ferney House estate. Today it forms part of the Pymmes Brook Trail, a 13 mile walk alongside the river starting from Hadley Green, the source, and ending at Tottenham Hale Station.
