Place Name

This side road was laid out in 1939 as infill on Victoria Road by a local builder Ernest Glyn Campion, for his own occupation and that of a relative Ernest John and his wife Doris Veronica Campion. Tragedy struck John’s family in 1945 when his son Laurence John, a second lieutenant in the Lancashire Fusiliers was killed in August 1945 fighting in France.
