Crook Log, DA6

Place Name

Named after a public house The Crook Log, which was dating from at least AD1808, and possibly earlier still, as a building of that name appears in a AD1738 document. The pub itself is believed to have been named from a dead tree with a curious bend, that once stood on the site.
