Cookham Dene Close, BR7

Place Name

Named after a property designed in the Arts and Crafts style by Sir Aston Webb, whose works include Admiralty Arch and the main entrance to the Victoria and Albert Museum, sometime around 1882 for his brother Edward Alfred Webb, a local historian. Although the Grade II listed house survives to this day, many of the surrounding trees and a meadow were lost when the road was laid out for executive housing.
