Place Name
Named in honour of William Henry Guy (1890 – August 1, 1968), better known as Bill Guy, who was Labour MP for Poplar South between 1942 and 1950, when the seat was abolished. He became a member of Poplar Borough Council, and was mayor of Poplar in 1953.
