Place Name
After Samuel James Waring, later Lord Waring (April 19, 1860 – January 9, 1940). Born in Liverpool he established his fine furniture business Waring & Son in London in 1893 and later merged with House of Gillow to form Waring & Gillow. He moved to Foots Cray Place in 1900. Nine years later, he gave Bexley Council land to form Waring Park. He was High Sheriff of Denbighshire between 1907 and 1908.
