Place Name
Named after a small genus of deciduous trees found in the southern United States and elsewhere. Waltham Forest Housing Action Trust used trees and plants as the inspiration for new streets in its redevelopment of the Oliver Close council estate which was developed between 1990 and 2001. This was laid out over former nurseries used for plants no doubt from the allotment gardens. Nearby streets on the estate include Alpine Way, Camellia Close, Pine Close, Larch Road, Magnolia Close, Osier Way, Robinia Crescent, and Walnut Road.
