Place Name
Takes its name from Sweetman’s Hall which was first recorded in 1393. This was one of 11 settlements, small hamlets and farms, that were dotted around the large common in the 14thCentury and linked by a maze of lanes. The present Grade II listed house on the site was built in the late 16thCentury, around the time of Henry VIII.
