Saracen’s Head Yard, EC3N

Place Name

This was the backyard to the busy inn of the same name which was first recorded here sometime around 1721, although given its name, a reference to the crusades, it may have stood here much earlier. By 1868 the inn had gone and by 1909 the building was being used as a restaurant. It was later demolished.
