Commemorates the original location of the early 19thCentury timber-framed public house The Plough, that once stood in 2 1/2 acres on the east side of Front Lane. In 1956, the pub was rebuilt on the west side of Front Lane, near the southern junction with Moor Lane. It is a large building of brick, with three bars.
