Wally Pearson, who died in 2008, played for Tooting and Mitcham United Football Club from 1958 – 1963. Pearson was the first choice keeper, and the Terrors’ talisman. This is one of several roads that honour former Tooting and Mitcham United players whose ground was here from 1932 until the 1990s when it moved to The Hub at Bishopsford Road. Slade Way is another.
