Place Name
Named after John Dann’s windmill in Erith which stood on the corner of St Paul’s Road and Charlieville Road. The windmill occupied an area of land near the present bus garage in Erith Road. When the land around Bexley Heath was enclosed the cornfields were given over to cultivate vegetables, fruit and flowers instead. By the 1860s the mill was no longer used and it was later demolished.
