Place name
Farmer Philip Mighell lived at the former Fern Hall estate from at least the early 19thCentury. His wife Lydia, who he married in 1821, died in 1849 and is buried at a local churchyard. The 1891 census shows the family were still residing there then with a Philip Mighell, a farmer, registered as living at the property. The estate was located about where Fernhall Drive is today. This street was laid out in the early 20thCentury.
