Place Name
Said to be named after a Joseph B Jackson, who lived at Hillside in the early 19thCentury. This was a medieval road running from Highgate to the village church at Hornsey. The lane used to cross Archway Road and continued as a footpath, but this eastern part was renamed Shepherd’s Hill when it was developed in the 1880s.
