Place Name

Takes its name from the Crown and Horseshoes public house, a 19thCentury Grade II listed building by the canal, the New River Loop. It was first listed in 1839 as the Crown & Three Horse Shoes, but adopted the present name by 1855. The street got its name sometime around 1851.
