Place Name
Named after Mabel Greville, the great-granddaughter of George Smith, the East India Company director who turned Selsdon Park House into a mansion. In 1890 she sold the entire estate including 679 acres of farmland to William Stevens, a printer and publisher of a popular magazine The Family Herald.
