Place Name
- Historically directional leading to Ayland Green, a small triangular patch that used to be at the junction of Millmarsh Lane and Stockingswater Lane, at its eastern end. The northern end was so called as early as 1471, the whole stretch became known as Greene Streete in 1572 and it took its present name in 1754.
