Possibly after Walton Priory near Felixstowe, which was founded in 1097 by Roger Bigod and his eldest son William. It was closed down in 1528. This is one of a number of roads around Abbey Wood that are named after former religious houses around the UK in reference to the Lesnes Abbey once located nearby.
