Place Name

This street was laid out on the grounds of Falkland House, a large house which was used for a while as a private school from around 1870 for 15 pupils aged eight to 17. The house stood here until the early part of the 20thCentury. The name may have been inspired by the novels of Sir Walter Scott, several roads in the area are connected with the Scottish historical novelist.
