Place Name
Named after the nearby river, the stream itself is the upper section of the River Brent and was named after Dollis Farm in Hendon, which means shared land or portion of shared land from the Middle English word dole. The farm was originally called Dalys in 1563 and Doles in 1574, by 1822 it was Dollis.
