Derwent Road, N13

Place Name

Likely inspired, like its neighbour Ulleswater Road,  by the lakes of Broomfield Park. Derwentwater and Ullswater (the name of the road is a misspelling) are two of the great lakes of Cumbria. This was laid out over Palmers Green sometime around the turn of the 19thCentury. Derwent comes from Old Welsh or Celtic and means river with oak trees.
