Place Name
Named after Craigton, a residential suburb in the southwest of Glasgow, Scotland. The name means an estate or farm next to a cliff or mountain. Many of the roads around Eltham Park are named after places in Scotland, the homeland of its developer Archibald Cameron Corbett, 1st Baron Rowallan, a Scottish Liberal Party and Liberal Unionist Party politician. Being a teetotaller he did not allow any pubs to be built in the area.
