Coulsdon Rise, CR5

Place Name

The town name of Coulsdon comes from a mutated version of the Anglo-Saxon which was Cūðræd’s hill referring to a spur road. First mentioned in AD933 as Cudredesdone. By the time of the 1086 Domesday Book it was the more recognisable Coulesdon.
