Named after Clementina Maude, Viscountess Hawarden, née Clementina Elphinstone Fleeming (June 1, 1822 – January 19, 1865), a noted English amateur portrait photographer of the Victorian Era. In this context however, she was the grandmother of Sir Courtenay Warner’s wife, on whose former estate this street was laid out.
