Chichele Gardens, CR0

Place Name

Henry Chichele (sometime around 1364 – April 12, 1443) was Archbishop of Canterbury from 1414 until his death. He was a lawyer and diplomat and under Henry VI founded All Souls College Oxford in 1438. Like many of the nearby roads, this one is named after a former Archbishop of Canterbury, who used Croydon Palace and later Addington Palace Mansion as a summer residence.
