Place Name

Laid out on the site of a former brick field and later the site of hoods sheds. It is one of a number of streets named in reference to the London 2012 Olympics Games, and literally meaning the cheering of the spectators. East Village was built on the site of the former Athletes’ Village which was redeveloped on former industrial land. Stratford underwent a huge amount of new development ahead of the 2012 London Olympic Games. Many new streets were created and named after this global celebration of sport.
