Place Name
This street was laid out on the grounds of The Cedars, an 18thCentury property, between 1896 and 1901. This large property was home to at least two prominent men: Sir Brook Watson, a former Lord Mayor of London and chairman of Lloyds, who lived there from 1780 until his death in 1807, and Sir Henry Wilcock chairman of the East India Company. The house still survives.
