Place Name

Named after the Carew family, former owners of Biggin Grove house in the 16th and 17thCenturies. Sir Nicholas Carew (circa 1496 – March 3, 1539), was a courtier and diplomat during the reign of King Henry VIII. He was executed for his alleged part in the Exeter Conspiracy.
