Place Name
After Sir William Calvert (circa 1703 – May 3, 1761), an Alderman of the City of London and, in 1749, Lord Mayor of London, who lived at Mount Mascal in the mid 18thCentury. His sister Honoria married Thomas Tash of Vale Mascal. The Calverts were a prominent family in the area. His cousins Sir Richard Calvert lived at Hall Place, and Felix Calvert at Mayplace, Crayford.
