Broxbourne Road, E7

Place Name

Named after the commuter town of Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, the original terminus for the Northern and Eastern train line which ran from Stratford when it opened in 1840. The route was extended in the following years: to Hertford in 1843 and Cambridge in 1845. It was taken over by the Eastern Counties in 1844.
