Place Name

Named after Brimpsfield Priory in Gloucestershire, a former monastic house with ties to France dating from the mid 13thCentury. It was suppressed as an alien abbey in 1414 after Henry V claimed the throne of France sparking war. This road like many others in the area is named after a former religious house in a reference to the nearby ruins of Lesnes Abbey that gave the area of Abbey Wood its name.
