Benson Road, CR0

Place Name

Edward White Benson (July 14, 1829 – October 11, 1896) was a former Archbishop of Canterbury. It was under his tenure as the first Bishop of Truro, serving from 1877 to 1883, that construction of Truro Cathedral was started. Like many of the nearby roads, this street is named after former archbishops of Canterbury, who used Croydon Palace as a summer residence.
