Named as far back as 1615 in the parish register after one Thomas Bartlett (also spelled Bartlet),¬†King’s printer to Edward VI, who was granted the lease of an eating house called the Plough or Plow in Fetter Lane. The court occupies the site also of Bartlett’s Buildings.
