Charles Robert Darwin (February 12, 1809 – April 19, 1882), was the naturalist, geologist and biologist, famous for his contributions to the science of evolution. Darwin’s theory that all species on earth descended over time from common ancestors is now widely accepted. Along with, Tyndall Road, Cavendish Avenue, Faraday Road, Huxley Road, Kelvin Road, Maxwell Road, and Newton Road, this street forms part of the so-called 1930s Scientists Estate. Developers frequently use themes to name a cluster of roads, even if there is often little or no connection with the local area.
