Place Name
This road of modern housing was laid out over the estate of the former Dacre Lodge – previously known as Buckskin Hall – which sat on the edge of Hadley Chase. Dacre Lodge was demolished in the 1930s. Given that hunting would have been a major activity for most of the house’s existence, this may well have been the site of a former paddock, a field for exercising horses. Alternatively, it may simply have been a marketing exercise, evoking a rural scene, which continues to prove popular with home buyers.
