Place Name
This street was developed in 1955, on what was the small heath to the east of Lady Jane’s Wood. As with many developments the (unoriginal) name was picked as a reference to a local landmark, of which trees were a common reference point, in large part to project an image of suburban leafiness to would-be residents. In this case the species Fagus sylvatica which grows in the wood.
