Predates nearby Peldon Court this served as an access road to the back of Peldon Villas, eight properties built here in the mid-19thCentury and named after the area’s original name, Peldon being a part of Marshgate (today’s Sheen Road). The name remains a mystery, although there is a village called Peldon just outside of Colchester, Essex.
