Place Name
This was the old boundary between Richmond and Mortlake. It was developed with houses on both sides following the sale of Elizabeth Doughty’s Priory Estate in 1875. James Green, Judith Filson, and Margaret Watson in The Streets of Richmond and Kew write: “The estate sale plan and early maps show it to have been a wooded area but hardly a ‘forest'”.
