Place Name
This was originally Hog Lane, it was renamed when the road to Woolwich was straightened out in the mid-19thCentury and became became an extension of Trafalgar Road. The name was changed to reflect its former destination but also as part of the area’s gentrification to appeal to an aspiring middle-class.
