Named after Clementina Maude, Viscountess Hawarden, née Clementina Elphinstone Fleeming (June 1, 1822 – January 19, 1865), also known as Lady Clementina Hawarden. She was the mother-in-law of Sir Thomas Courtenay Theydon Warner, the owner of the Walthamstow estate which he developed in the early years of the 20thCentury. Sir Thomas named streets laid out on his lands after places and people he was connected with. Viscountess Hawarden was a noted English amateur portrait photographer and wife of Cornwallis Maude, 4th Viscount Hawarden.
