Place Name
Named after Katharine Fry (August 22, 1801 – May 9, 1886) known as Kitty. The road name is misspelt. She was the eldest child of prison reformer and philanthropist Elizabeth Fry and Joseph Fry, a tea merchant and member of the chocolate manufacturing family. The family’s estate was in Plashet. However she is known locally in her own right, having had her History of the Parishes of East and West Ham, published posthumously in 1888.
