Place Name
Named by Sir Culling Eardley, of Bedwell Park, in Hertfordshire, who inherited the Belvedere Estate from his cousin William Thomas Eardley-Twisleton-Fiennes, 15th Baron Saye and Sele in 1847. Although he mostly resided at the family seat he did live at Belvedere from 1848 to 1858. He planned a new town for which he built All Saints’ Church and a water works.
