Just over the border in Surrey. One of a number of roads laid out on the old hospital grounds which are named after people connected with the former asylum. In this case a misspelling of Dr Francis Carteret Gayton, the first Medical Superintendent. The site, on the Netherne farming estate, was chosen by Surrey County Council after the Brookwood Asylum had grown overcrowded.
