Kevington is first recorded in the early 17thCentury but is thought to have been based on a much older place name with later additions. In this case after a landowner or farmer named Cÿfa. Keuington appears in the records of 1610 and 80 years later transformed into Kevington. By the following century Kevingtowne is recorded.
