Place Name
Henry William Dobell (August 8, 1813 – March 2, 1895) who lived at Sherard House was a pastor and Comptroller of HM Customs. But he was most likely remembered here as a local philanthropist who gave land on the site of his demolished coach house and stables to build the former Congregational Church which was opened on Eltham High Street in 1868.
