Clement Peache (1747 – October 23, 1815) was the great-grandfather of the James Courthope Peache junior – who was given his grandfather’s name – who sold this land for the Belvedere estate development. Clement was a shipwright in Lambeth who founded the family business which made them their later fortune. He is buried at St John’s Church, Waterloo. This road was developed in 1905 as part of the Belvedere estate
