Edward Whitlock (January 18, 1885 – 1969) was a popular and hardworking Alderman of Wandsworth Council. A director of the Aluminium Plant and Vessel Co., Ltd, he was first elected to the local authority in 1945. He quickly established himself as an active member of community serving as vice chairman of Wandsworth School, and in 1955 attended the first ever Eid at the Fazl Mosque, Southfields, on behalf of the Wandsworth Rotarians. In office he pioneered sick pay for workers and apprentices employed by the Council. He was made a freeman of the Borough in 1964. When he died he left £30,000 to charity.
