Place Name
Haven Close was laid out in 1959 on the extensive grounds of Heathlands House. Neal Ransome, in Wimbledon Village: A History Told Through Its Street Names says the name was probably given to reflect its secluded position. However, the developers may also have sought inspiration from the nearby Haven Cottage that stood close to the junction of Queensmere Road and Seymour Road.
